Our partner Beatriz Cabal and Senior Associate Gabriela Vásquez López represented GALA at the AIJA 64th International Young Lawyers’ Congress, held in Vienna from 24 to 29 August 2026.

Their participation reflected GALA’s continued involvement in AIJA through both leadership and substantive contribution. Beatriz attended in her capacity as Co-Chair of AIJA’s National Representatives Committee, while Gabriela joined the programme as a speaker in the workshop “Market Power vs. Manpower: When Antitrust and Employment Law Collide,” addressing the growing intersection between competition and employment law.

The Congress also marked important milestones: Beatriz prepares to take center stage as Co-Chair of the AIJA 65th International Congress in Panama, as the countdown to this landmark event has officially begun. At the same time, Gabriela embarks on an exciting new chapter within AIJA following her appointment as Vice-President of the Labour Law (+ Immigration Law) Commission for the 2026–2028 term.

We are proud to see Beatriz and Gabriela continuing to contribute to AIJA from positions of leadership and to represent GALA within an international network that brings together lawyers from more than 100 jurisdictions.
