Minimum Wage Increase

By way of Executive Decree 75 of December 26, 2017 the Government of the Republic of Panama announced an increase in the minimum wage as of January 1, 2018. The percentages of wage adjustments vary between 6.5% for large companies and around 4.5% for smaller companies.

The rates fixed by the Decree establish the minimum wage for workers and they modify the lower wages already stipulated. Likewise, any wages already established according to any other rule that are higher than those fixed in the Decree will remain in force.

For more information we have included a copy of the Decree in the following link.
